Toques & Clochers, Limoux Chardonnay 2021

Toques & Clochers was established in 1990 by the Sieur d'Arques cooperative winery in Limoux, located in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. Originally an event set-up by a wine cooperative to raise money for local historical preservation, Toques & Clochers is now a household name in Limoux. Their Limoux Chardonnay 2021 is a gorgeously inviting and complex wine. Notes of ripe yellow apples, juicy pear and a subtle hint lemon zest are on the nose. The palate is well-balanced and the flavours of apple and pear reappear, accompanied by a gentle creaminess that lends depth and richness. A judicious touch of oak brings subtle vanilla and toasted almond notes, providing additional complexity without overpowering the fruit. A great wine to pair with roast chicken or creamy sauces.
